Long Description:
These two lions sit in front of the ordination hall of a colourful wat in a small town in the northern Thai province of Phitsanulok. There was no English language sign, but a local told the name of the wat is "Wat Soon Ton Pradit".
The lions are in the Singha style, with elaborate harness, but are designed in a way I have not seen before. The lions are grey in colour, and do not seem to be made from stone, rather perhaps fibre glass. They seem slightly smaller than life-sized, they sit on a plinth, and face outwards guarding the temple. Entry to the wat is unrestricted, though, of course, a small donation is the thing to do.
