Oslo is the capital of and most populous city in Norway. Founded around 1048 by King Harald III, the city was elevated to a bishopric in 1070 and a capital under Haakon V around 1300.
The Norwegian Resistance Museum offers exhibitions and a library/archive, and is Norway’s leading institution on the history of the Nazi occupation. The museum is open all year.
Guided tours are available on appointment for schools, groups and companies.
The department of archives and documentation have specialized literature, other printed matters, a collection of manuscripts and archive materials available to the public.
