The Alfred Parish Church was built in 1834 with the stained glass windows, bell tower and clock added in 1889. The church was built on the site of the original North Parish Meeting House which had been built in 1784. The bell in the tower was cast in 1832 by Revere in Boston.

The clock is on four sides of the tower. It has white face, black hands, and Roman numerals.
