County boundaries don't appear on googlemaps.com, so I could be wrong about this, but when hiking the Fingerlakes Trail from east to west, this is the first register you encounter in Tompkins County after a brief stint in Tioga County.

This is the second trail register on the M18 map section, just in from Blackman Hill Road as you enter the Potato Hill State Forest.
I was struck by the effort that went into the building and decoration of this box. My next observation was that of the greeting I received from the roosters in the coop in the background of my in situ picture.
I signed into this register twice. It was my stopping point in sequential days of day hiking; then, it was my starting point the following morning, July 7-8, 2012.
