The Alfred Parish Church was built in 1834 with the stained glass windows, bell tower and clock added in 1889. The church was built on the site of the original North Parish Meeting House which had been built in 1784. The bell in the tower was cast in 1832 by Revere in Boston. The adjacent cemetery has many of the community's early leaders and several graves of Revolutionary War veterans.
The church continues to serve its active congregation and now a United Church of Christ.
