Heard Pueblo Boy Scout Camp is located at 1901 E Dobbins Road in Phoenix, in the northern foothills of South Mountain. The camp is named for the Heard family, who donated the property to the Boy Scouts in the late 1920's. There are a wide variety of program areas, including hiking, camping, COPE, swimming, rifle shooting and archery, along with several compass courses which were specially designed to meet the requirements of the Boy Scout Second Class Award.
A junior-sized olympic swimming pool and facilities are also available as well as a "Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience" (COPE) course.
Three amphitheaters are available for use, ranging from the Woodbadge Amphitheater, which accommodates 80-100 people, to the Norton Amphitheater, which can hold approximately 400 people and includes a large stage area and lighting system. Various-sized ramadas are also spread throughout camp for use by day and overnight campers.
Visit Instructions: As of 1/26/06 you will need to post a photo of the camp gateway that also shows you and/or your GPS. If the photo is not posted, your log will be deleted.
