The Christus Santa Rosa Hospital has been a landmark in San Antonio for several generations. It is an anchor to the west end of Houston Street, one of the main cultural street of the city. It also is the location for a world-class childrens hospital. Located officially at 333 N Santa Rosa Street, San Antonio, TX 78205, the Santa Rosa School of Nursing is part of the greater campus of medical arts buildings composing the Christus Santa Rosa Hospital. The Nursing School recruites recent graduates with BSN degrees to start training with this hospital system. Unfortunately, their IT group in charge of their Nursing School marketing is not as qualified as their nursing staff or there would be more user-friendly information about the school and how to apply or even find it posted to the web. Most of their information is from nursing blogs or is outdated on their official website. That aside, the buildings are still there and their nursing program is still active ... assuming you can figure out how to join them.
The tall tower-like entrance where the cornerstone is located is made of light colored smoothly cut stone with various enbellishments above the rather modern steel and glass doorway. The cornerstone itself appears to be light gray marble.
