Presque Isle makes for a great natural port with it's miles of beaches and other natural water front. There is a large number of birds and water foul to be "spoted" by those who are inclined to do so. There are also many types of four legged creatures to see including Raccoons, rabbits and even deer. The main Coordinates for this waymark take you to the Lighthouse beach where all my photos were taken and the other coordinates are for the entrance to Presque Isle.
Along with sandy beaches you will also find grassy dunes, swamps, ponds and lots of wooded areas to enjoy. During the spring hatching season the furthest reaches of the park are off limits to help the many species that call it home to flourish.
Presque Isle State Park is not just a great place for nature it also has a lot of history in, well the War of 1812 when it's natural ports were used to protect the fleet of Commodore William Perry. There are also 2 lighthouses to be found on your travels around the park one along the shore line and the other out on a pier.
Presque Isle can be found on page 78 of the NATIONAL REGISTRY OF NATURAL LANDMARKS PDF file located at: (
