Black Boy Hotel. Just across the River Severn from the centre of Bewdley, Wribbenhall is a separate parish that is an integral part of the town of Bewdley. The Hotel has a long history and now has it's own website (see below).
The sign is somewhat the worse for wear but is a reference to Charles II while in exile in France who was of a swarthy complexion and in order to confound the Roundheads supporters of the Crown would drink to the health of - "The Black Boy Across The Water"
