The Fire Hall is owned jointly by the Town of Hortonia and Village of Hortonville. Since 1873 the Town of Hortonville (which divided in 1895 into the Village of Hortonville and Town of Hortonia) has had a Fire Department.

Today, 22 volunteers man the equipment in the village, and 16 from Hortonia are on call for rural fires. The equipment has been continually updated and added to. The department has four trucks, two tankers and a pumper.
