In Holbrook, in the northern part of town and along North Franklin Street is the Cochato Nursery.

Cochato Nursery is an independent nursery that has been around for over two decades. The property has narrow frontage on North Franklin Street. The sign is harder to spot going north vs. south (I missed it the first time - if you get to a strip mall on your left, you went too far, and if you get to the Braintree Line, that's right out!). Once you turn into the property, follow the stone driveway by the house and demonstration gardens (mostly on your left) to the parking lot (the waymark point). The office is the small shed uphill from the parking lot.

The web site has the following about their nursery:

"Growers of unique perennial plants for the cutting edge gardener, Cochato Nursery specializes in shade plants and wildflowers, dwarf and unusual species for all gardens. They grow and sell over four hundred varieties of hosta plants in addition to ferns, bog plants, alpines, rock garden plants, unique trees and shrubs, vines, and peonies. You can find plants that will work in any given growing condition whether it is dry, moist, shade, sunny, sloped, hollow, rocky or loamy."

I did not see any greenhouses, per se, though they could have been in another location or behind some trees. The visible area had plenty of areas where plants were either featured or grown. Right by the shed, for instance, is a demonstration of a garden with a garden railroad. Other demonstration areas included bogs, moss gardens, and patio landscapes.

If you are not able to make the nursery, you can shop and order online over 700 plants; accessed through the web site.

The nursery is open seasonally from May 2 through Labor Day. General hours are Thursday - Sunday, 9 am - 5 pm - but do call ahead to make sure that they are open that day if you are coming from a distance.
