In this episode James gets to perform a trephine operation on a horse and Siegfried looses a dog from the surgery.
Siegfried is called to an over active horse owned by the eccentric Darnley sisters. Siegfried proposes a trephine operation, but cannot perform it himself due to other commitments. James must do it, but has never done one before. All goes well for James, except one of the Darnley sisters faints during the operation.
Mr Ramsey leaves his Great Dane with the practice for a minor operation. Siegfried looks after the dog whilst it is coming round, but unfortunately the dog escapes from Skeldale house and Siegfried is led on a chase to retrieve it.
The clips show Siegfried arriving at the Darnley’s house and also one of the Darnley sisters urgently waiting for Mr Herriot outside the gates.
