Ryan is in the heart of Oklahoma cattle & wheat country, just 2-miles north of the Red River. That puts it nearly at the start of the old Chisholm Trail which ran very near the town. (US 81, which runs through town, essentially runs the route of the trail through Oklahoma.) The town's population is almost 900.
This little park has no name, no signs, no gates, no litter. It just sits there at the corner of a downtown intersection. A place where local kids can easily ride their bikes to play in the "old-fashioned" way, or adults can gather to actually talk to each other. (They still do that in fly-over country, you know!)
The main playground equipment is a set of swings and one of those rather large contraptions that you tend to find at fast-food restaurants with a jungle gymn, slides, places to crawl around in, etc. There re a couple of benches conveniently placed so that adults can rest while children play & still keep an eye on them. The playground area of the park is lit along with the rest of the park.
As the pictures show, the park has a small, but very nice playground, picnic tables, and a lovely gazebo. although we were there in the daytime, it is obvious that there is some light at night.
