Calderdale council has partly sponsored the creation of the Calderdale Cycleway in partnership with SUSTRANS an organisation that helps set up National Cycle Routes.
For much of the route the cycleway uses the canal towpath, thus avoiding roads.
When the cycleway was created a number of art works were created to advertise the route.
In this case half of a canal boat has been turned into a picnic bench and is shown entering through the gates of a canal lock.
The boat is situated next to a car park next to Haugh Road, just off the A646.
