Reliance is a small community of about 190 in Lyman County, South Dakota.
The memorial is in the community cemetery just north of town. The cemetery itself is a combined Catholic and Protestant cemetery.
The memorial itself looks to be fairly new but no dates were given as to when it was constructed or when it was dedicated.

Description of Memorial:
The memorial consists of a gazebo, two granite slabs, two bronze soldiers, two flag poles, and seven brick columns, all on a concrete slab.
On the granite slabs, a list of those veterans who have died is engraved. On each side of the granite slabs are flag poles with the American Flag and a POW/MIA flag.
In front of the granite slabs are seven pillars.
