Andrew's Bald in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, NC, is an open, grassy mountain-top meadow known in the Southern Appalachians as a bald. Andrew's Bald is the highest grassy bald in the Smoky Mountains. Andrew's Bald is reached by a 1.8 mile (one way) hike on the Forney Ridge Trail which begins at the west end of the Clingman's Dome parking lot.

Andrew's Bald is known for its mountain views and its wildflowers. The views can be iffy depending on the weather. Check on the weather at the Sugarlands Visitor Center before making the drive up the mountain. Catawba Rhododendron and various colors of wild azaleas bloom in mid-to-late June.
