The main photo was taken from a footpath that is about 10m to the north of the bridge. Footpaths pass under the bridge on both sides of the road so there are opportunites for photos from many different angles.

This bridge has a two lane road passing beneath it in a north/south direction. A clearance height is shown with a clearance of 15 ft 06 in. This bridge becomes another bridge as it crosses Commercial Road and the platforms of Limehouse mainline station are partly housed on the bridge.

There is always a risk of a bridge being struck by a road vehicle and there are normally signs advising who to contact should a bridge hit be observed. The sign, at this bridge, reads:

"In Case of Emergency

If you witness a vehicle striking
this railway bridge
please contact Network Rail
Using telephone No: 01708 641225
and state

Bridge strike: at Bekesbourne Street
Bridge No: 528 - FSS1 at 1 mile 1210 yds

Immediately afterwards inform
the Police using 999 system
"
