ODOT Bly Mountain 5 - Klamath County, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I was traveling along Bly Mountain Pass and noticed this bright orange carbonite witness post in the distance and had a hunch it might be something worth checking out. My hunch proved correct as there is a bronze benchmark imbedded in a low-lying boulder by the Oregon Dept. of Transportation. It's a geodetic control point and numbered #5, which hints that there are other numbered geodetic control points through Bly Mountain Pass as well.

There is a gravel parking area in front of the benchmark and the orange witness post will lead you right to the benchmark location.
