This obsolete railroad bridge was the Beulah Road crossing of the former Fort Belvoir, U.S. Government Railroad.

The last Army railway equipment left the post in late summer 1993 and the track was subsequently pulled up. A GE 80-ton went to Letterkenny Army Depot, PA, where it remains today.(railroad.net)
Andy961 visited Beulah Road, Fort Belvoir Army Railroad Bridge on 6/17/2012 7:00:00 AM and posted the following comments:
"This concrete bridge carried a spur line across Beulah Road into Fort Belvoir. The spur, known as the U.S. Government Railroad, originated at an interchange with the RF&P at Newington. The line was principally used to transport coal into the post. The best date I have found for construction is 1932."
