The long, lonely crossing between two northern Thai provinces. The provinces of Phayao and Lampang are two of the many agricultural provinces of northern Thailand. Lands of rice farms, villages and towns, a provincial capital, light industry, and virtually no tourists.

This border crossing is along the main highway connecting the two provincial capitals. Highway #1 begins in Bangkok and runs north to the far northern province of Chiang Rai, and then onto the Mynamar border. There are a variety of signs along this stretch of road. The white sign used as the default image is the closest to the actual border point. The large, blue sign, which lists three of the Phayao province attractions, is inside the border. The land in the vicinity of the crossing is unused land. No facilities or restrictions.
