Two extremely classical lions, in northern Thailand.

These two lions were a complete surprise find. They flank the main entrance to this abandoned building. The building is constructed in a European classical style. There was only one piece of identification on the building "Francois Thai Development Co, Ltd". It is on the north west corner of the inner city, on the moat and city wall. The interior is empty. No sign of a date, but I strongly suspect it was not constructed recently.
The lions are life-sized, and look to be carved from marble or stone. They are crouching and looking towards each other across the entrance way.
The default photograph was taken on the 27th of February 2012, 20.30 local time. Thus behind the lion the Moon and the planet Jupiter are visible .
