A placard at the carousel informs us that it was built in Germantown, Pennsylvania around 1908 by G.A. Dentzel Steam & Horsepower Co. and that it is hand-carved- one of only 30 such carousels still in existence. It was severely damaged in a 1938 hurricane and rebuilt. It was acquired from Bushkill Park in Allentown, PA in 1964. "It contains 52 animals, 3 abreast of which 36 are jumpers. 2 chariots."
It also tells us that the accompanying organ is a Wurlitzer.
The carousel is in a semi-enclosed pavilion.
