In Wayland, along Rice Road, is the Broomstones Curling Club.

Broomstones is located off Rice Road, on a road that the club and a few houses reside on - Curling Lane. There are signs for the club on Rice Road - be sure to be looking for them though, because you might miss them.

From the club's website:

"Broomstones is a 4-sheet club located in Wayland, Massachusetts. We are the largest curling club in the Boston area. Our club has 307 active adult curlers and 70 college, junior, and youth curlers."

They have many levels of membership and dues, so you will have to go to the website for details. Currently they are offering an introductory rate of $100 for a half-season. They also have 2 hour classes available in November where you learn to play the sport. Occasionally, they have an Open House. There were none posted on the web site, but check there for possible announcements.

There are many different leagues that you can participate in, as well, including Open, Single Gender, and Mixed. Youth programs are also available.

Broomstones is an federation of three clubs: Brae Burn, Wellesley, and Weston Country Club Curling Clubs. Weston and Wellesley joined forces, becoming Broomstones, Inc., in 1967 to build the present facility, which opened in 1968. Brae Burn joined in 1972. Broomstones is the club that everyone joins, with options to join the other clubs from there.

The website has some other interesting information about curling in Boston. It is claimed that Boston was the location where,"for the first time in the world, a curling match was played on artificial ice made JUST for curling." This happened at the Boston Arena on St. Botolph Street in Boston on January 11, 1911. That arena does not exist, anymore, it burned down in 1918. Records about curling in Boston go back as far as 1835. The Brae Burn Curling Club (associated with the Brae Burn Country Club in Newton), seems to be the oldest club, with activity starting in 1898 - but it was not continuously active. Weston and Wellesley started in 1960.
