Long Description:The following information is from The Raven's website
(visit link):
"The Raven is a traditional family owned and run Free House which means that, unlike the majority of pubs in the UK, we are not tied to a brewery or any other business.
We can do exactly what we want to do, and we do! The range and quality of what we offer is entirely up to us – no excuses!
The pub is composed of two Georgian town houses located on a quiet cobbled street in the centre of Bath a few steps from the famous Milsom Street. See map for directions. We have two fully stocked bars and we are, of course, totally Smoke Free.
By the way... We are not a wine bar, we don’t do loud music, slot machines or TVs.
Sorry we can not cater for children under 14. We do not allow dogs except guide dogs."
We greatly enjoyed our meal and ale at The Raven. So do many people it seems. We found the following review on Yelp.com and it pretty much sums up our thoughts and experience as well (visit link):
"Tucked away behind Bath's busy high street, The Raven is my favourite pub in the city centre. Because they're not tied into one particular brewery it means they're able to give you the very best in local ales, ciders as well as some delicious wines. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about the drinks they serve so don't hold back if you have any questions.
There are two levels; a small, intimate bar downstairs and a larger space above which is better suited for bigger groups of people. The atmosphere is always merry at The Raven, and they attract a mixed clientele from old men who fancy a quiet drink on their own, to groups of students celebrating finishing their dissertations.
The Raven also serves the legendary Pieminister pies, which makes it the perfect pub experience."
