The provincial hall and government centre of the northern Thai province of Chiang Mai is located a little to the north of the provincial capital, also named Chiang Mai. At the main approach to the hall is a fountain. Not the greatest fountain I have ever seen, but certainly a lively fountain.
The fountain is low, maybe 10m in diameter, with a five elephant family making merry in the water. The water shoots out of the trunks of the elephants. The fountain is centrepiece of a landscaped area. The background to the photos looks hazy, not a photographic defect, rather the smoke from forest fires.
