This mural is of one of Deal's fishing boats, the 'Denise', by local artist Penny Bearman.  As part of the Spirit of Deal Project started in 2009 by Penny, a number of murals were painted to lessen the impact of empty businesses in Deal.  Dragontree posted their WMEDW5 'Going to the Regent' back in May 2012, and we have decided to add this one, further along in Beach Street, opposite Deal Pier. Several of the premises once displaying the art work have now re-opened, which is good news for local business, but a loss to those who missed the art in situ.
