It is a heritage listed building which is described by the NSW Heritage Office as: Illustrative of early development of Wollongong around Market Square. Architectural significance - excellent and rare example of symmetrical Victorian Italianate. A two storey building with a tiled hip roof, painted cement render walling lined in imitation of ashlar.
