Close to the entrances to The Whitgift Centre and Centrale Shopping Centre can be seen these marvellous Victorian, tudor style chimney pots.
They are actually above Phones4u and the Footasylum shops (65-67 North End).
Some parts of Croydon here are very old but these buildings probably date from Victorian times or later. There are actually six chimney pots aligned in two rows of three (or is that three rows of two)!
Of the four I can see properly you have these patterns - Diamond Trellis, Lattice, Dimpled and Spiral.
There may be a better vantage point from inside the shops opposite, however I didn’t have time to explore that during my visit to Croydon.
I have tried to find some history to the building these sit atop but sadly have failed, if anyone can help it would be appreciated. It looks a rather fine building.
