This building is going to replace the old Sanitorium and Mental Hospital that exist on the property. With a capacity of 305 patients and over 800,000 sqft Healthcare Hamilton is hoping to destigmatize mental health issues. According to the Spectator, the hospital will have as much concrete as the C.N. Tower!
Although they are far along in construction (I saw them putting windows in one section today) there is still a long way to go including demolition of the old hospital which is located in behind the one their building.
The building is expected to be completed by Dec. 2013 but won't be open to the public until Aug 2014.
