CNR caboose 79078 was built by Canada Car & Foundry of Montreal in 1918 as Canadian Northern boxcar 82692. In 1941 it was converted to a caboose, retaining the same number.
It was refurbished and renumbered as CN 79078 until retirement. It and the locomotive were donated to the Town of Lindsay in 1988.
In 2018/19 the caboose received some needed restoration. Along with this came a repainting and renumbering to CN 79078.
It is now on permanent display at the Railway Heritage Centre and Train Display in Memorial Park in Lindsay, Ontario for all to enjoy.

On display at Railway Heritage Centre and Train Display.
