The bench is made primarily from wood with the legs being metal. The sides (armrests) and back of the bench have been painted in bright colours but these have faded with use over the years. Along the front edge of the bench there is some carving that continues along the sides and the backrest. Some of the carving is quite intricate ad there are areas where some fretwork has taken place. There is a carved post at each side of the bench but these do not appear to be attached to the bench so probably are not a part of it. Its look and colour give it a Far East feel.
