Wat Pratu Pong is one of the older Wats of Lampang province, and is located near the city centre. According to an English tourist sign in the Wat (in gallery) the temple was originally constructed in 1577, and refurbish several times since. My impression of the temple is that it looks entirely new and spic and span, it looks to have been recently refurbished.

The temple is located at a former city gate. It also contains several of the most sacred Buddhist relics in the province. Unfortunately, when I visited (weekday) there were no people present in the temple to show me anything.
