This U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark (designated T 387) is located along the old Baltimore and Ohio rail line (tracks and ties removed). The mark is set in the top of a 9 by 8 foot bolder in the railway right-of-way. The mark is approximately 214 SW from the south of of a bridge over a small creek.

With the bridge at your back, the boulder is to your right, on the other side of a small ditch, 20-25 feet from the trail (approx 1 foot above the railway grade). The boulder is pretty noticable with no foliage, but summer conditions may make it harder to spot. There are 2 or 3 concrete boxes dumped along the side of the trail which may help you in determing the general location of the boulder. The mark is in excellent condition, however the rock is covered in goldenrod and some moss which made some very light debris removal required (sticks and leaves). However when recovered, the moss was not an issue. The mark is located at the top of the boulder as described.

The mark is in good condition and stamped with the date: 1967.
