This bridge gets farm traffic over the sunken horse path as bargees legged their boats through the canal tunnel. Horses would find their own way. The horse path cut through the hill.

When the canal contractors cut through this hill, provision was needed to maintain access to the fields. Which this bridge still does. Barges were pulled through or legged, whilst the tow horse went over the top via this sunken path.

Grade 2 listed structure. (visit link)
