There are two accommodation bridges built over the Horse Path at Hincaster Canal Tunnel. This is the eastern bridge.

Once the massive cutting leading up to the canal tunnel was dug, access had to be provided to the fields. This bridge allows farm vehicles to get to the fields.
The railway came later causing it own problems.

Whilst the barges went through the tunnel, their horses went over the top via this sunken path. The horses could not stray from the path and would emerge at the other canal portal. There are two bridges, one on either side of the hill, for the farmer.
