White Horse Country Park was bought by Kent County Council for the pleasure of the public to enjoy. They have since they bought it, planted over 20,000 trees in the park and seeded 5 hectares for grassland.
The highest point on this hill, which is part of the North Downs, has a triangulation point (trig point) and is 650 feet (198m) above sea level. From this trig point the views are outstanding. Looking out to the left you see Hollingbourne, and in front of you the village of Thurnham. Scanning over towards the horizon you can see the High Weald of Kent and the impressive Greensand Ridge.
To get to this see this view you have to park in the car park near the entrance of the park and walk here along one of the many paths through the park. There is one small stone bench to sit on, but there is plenty of well maintained grass to sit here with your picnic.
