This benchmark (designated EAST AURORA RESET) is set in a concrete pillar/monument at the SE corner of the intersection of Route 78 and Paine Street. The monument/pillar is raised 2 feet above the level of the ground, and tapers slightly to the top where the mark is set. The mark is set to the west of the stairs leading up to the East Aurora Administrative building, along side trimmed bushes.

NOTE: this mark is a "reset" even though not stamped on the benchmark. According to the NGS, in 1999 the top portion of the mark was hit and had to be set back into the bottom portion of the concrete. The same disk was used, and was not stamped as a reset. This is apparent as halfway up the monument, it is clear it was patched (see pictures attached to this listing for more info).

The original EAST AURORA is listed in the NGS database as PID = NC0508.
