"Henry VII Tudor (English Henry Tudor) Welsh Harri Tewdwr, born January 28 1457 at Castle Pembroke, Wales. died April 21 1509 in Richmond Palace. Harri Tewdwr was King of England and Lord of Ireland in the period of 22 August 1485 to 21st April 1509 and the founder of the Tudor dynasty. He was the last king of England, who gained the throne on the battlefield, after the battle of Bosworth. King Richard III was defeated.
His marriage to Elizabeth of York ended the so-called War of the Roses, the decades between the rival houses Lancaster and York had been held. His reign was plagued by rebellions in the beginning and several pretenders to the throne. He was followed by his second son Henry VIII to the throne." (
