There are a series of these benches in the Cardiff Bay area, at Brittania Quay also the Bay Waterfront park, they have come to known as Beasti Benches, and a memorial to Dylan Thomas.
This bench looks like an arched bird with a flat seating area and a plume of tail feathers. The birds breast is engraved with the words, "Bird after dark".
The 'Bird after Dark & the 'Laughing fish' benches are facing each other, these benchs have a great view of the Roath Dock, overlooking the new BBC Wales studios, perhaps a great place to sit and read Dylan Thomas's poem ‘Ballad of the long legged bait’
