Das sogenannte Neue Rathaus ist ein neoklassizistischer Prachtbau aus dem Jahr 1928. Es löste das Alte Rathaus in der Sonneberger Altstadt ab. Errichtet wurde es nach Plänen von Karl Dröner. Überragt wird das Rathaus vom 45 Meter hohen Mittelturm. Die Fassade ist durch Säulenanordnungen gegliedert. Gegenüber dem Rathaus befindet sich der Hauptbahnhof.
The new town hall of Sonneberg is a neoclassical building which was built in 1928. The former town hall is situated in the old town of Sonneberg. The town hall based on the plans of Karl Dröner. Characteristic for its front are some columns. On the other side you can find the main train station.
