There are a series of these benches in the Cardiff Bay area, at Brittania Quay also the Waterfront park, they have come to known as Beasti Benches. This bench looks like an arched fish with a wide grin and lots of teeth to eat you up with. The fish tail is engraved with the words, "And the Laughing Fish". This bench type seat has a great view of the Roath Dock overlooking the new BBC Wales studios, perhaps a great place to sit and read Dylan Thomas's poem ‘Ballad of the long legged bait’

From ‘Ballad of the long legged bait’
"Always good luck, praised the finned in the feather
Bird after dark and the laughing fish
As the sails drank up the hail of thunder
And the long-tailed lightning lit his catch." (
