The station stands between Ravenscourt Park and Baron's Court on the District Line and Turnham Green and Baron's Court on the Piccadilly Line. Hammersmith is the terminus for the City and Circle Lines.

Time Out London's website (visit link) tells us:

"When Hammersmith received its first station in 1864 it was still a village ‘best known for spinach and strawberries’, writes Christian Wolmar in his definitive ‘The Subterranean Railway’ (2004), but it soon became a major interchange."
