A short walk in Rocky Mountain National Park on the east side of Grand Lake brings you to Adams Falls, a beautiful waterfall that feeds into Grand Lake. Park at the trailhead coordinates listed below and walk the natural surface trail to the overlook less than half a mile from the trailhead. There is no fee for parking at the trailhead; however, a backcountry permit is required for overnight stays.
Adams Falls is located on the East Inlet which feeds into Grand Lake, the largest natural lake in Colorado. The best time to go is in spring or early summer when the snow runoff brings the falls to life. In the afternoon, you may see a rainbow in the water spray with the sun behind you. Also keep an eye out for wildlife as moose and bears are common in this area.
