Long Description:
This Memorial serves as the base for a flagpole which flies the American flag and is dedicated "TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES". Over a hundred names are engraved on the memorial...presumably from Newark.
At the very bottom an engraving informs us: "DEDICATED BY THE IRONBOUND MEMORIAL DAY PARADE COMM. JOHN F. GIORDANO FOUNDER - ERECTED MAY 25, 1974"
The "Ironbound" is the name of the neighborhood that this Memorial is in.
