Long Description:I was visiting the Arlington National Cemetery recently and I came upon this tree ring display. Interestingly enough, through it's rings it documents the building of Arlington House, it's owners history and finally it's establishment as a National Historic Monument. The plaque next to it discusses the history that the Arlington Forest played in the development of the area. I found it quite fascinating that such events could be chronologically displayed on a tree ring.
