Skelton-Teasley House·c. 1856
The brick home was built for the family of Dr. Oliver P. Skelton, physician, postmaster and Ordinary of Milton County. His son-in-law John I. Teasley, a cotton planter, subsequently occupied it. This Greek Revival style house has four rooms, a central hall, heart pine flooring, and twelve inch walls that flare to forty-eight inches at the foundation. The four fireplaces share an interior wall but have separate chimneys. One of the original mantles remains. The home sits on one of the highest points in Alpharetta.
