Capt. William Kendrick is buried in the Greensburg Cemetery. He was a member of the North Carolina Militia, and a prominent farmer in St. Helena Parish. The lot on which the St. Helena Parish courthouse now stands was donated by Kendrick for parochial purposes, in 1830. Street near courthouse was named Kendrick until approximately 1973 when changed to Hamberlin Street. Marker placed by the Alexander Stirling Chapter DAR in 1976.
