Granite statue of a Union soldier mounted on a tall granite base. The monument is located on the high point of the Mount Hope Cemetery and faces the entrance. Appears to have been erected by the G.A.R and the Woman's Relief Corps. No date can be found and the Smithsonian Art Inventory also shows no date.

Inscription on the base of the monument reads:
