The operator at the lock told me that this lock, and all the structures date back to 1911. This corresponds to the second enlargement of the Erie Canal.
While there, the Sam Patch, a replica packet boat went through the lock. On a previous visit, a boat from Cleveland Ohio made it's way through, on its way to Connecticut.
