St. James Episcopal Church was organized June 6th 1815. John Hickcox and Samuel Benedict were the Church Wardens. Measures were immediately taken to erect a church but it was not completed until 1822. The present church edifice was erected in 1835.

St. James Episcopal Church is a beautiful and large church with various meeting rooms for any type of meeting. Their large parish hall holds up to 400 people in a banquet setting. Their smaller Guild room is board room seating for up to 20 people. They have a kitchen and catering service available. The staff is Red Cross Certified for any medical problem that may arise.
